The troop operates four patrols (Eagle, Tiger, Wolf and Falcon) for boys aged 10.5 to 15.5 and meets every Thursday night from 20:00 to 21:30. Throughout the year our scouts do a number of different activites both in doors and out doors, home and away. As a scout you might be up a mountain in the snow one weekend and on a beach learning to surf the next.
Each of our patrols is self-governing and self-sufficent. As a scout you will be expected to learn the skills needed to take care of yourself and others. Skills like what to do in a medical emergency, how to prepare and cook a meal and how to use a map and compass. Our aim is to encourage the patrols to work as an effective team and we do this by promoting a sense of shared leadership and responsibility. |
